Anusha Raju - PBM Bill Passed and First Spring Pharmacy Night

This week had a lot of big things happening. First of all, the PBM bill officially passed in the House, and I was able to witness it. This bill is to establish consistency and fairness in pharmacy audits. All of this is essential for a successful pharmacy business and patient care. We had waited for a few hours one afternoon, and the second afternoon that we were there, it finally came up. The representatives did a great job discussing the bill, and it was clear they were looking out for the welfare of pharmacists. Now, the bill needs to pass through the senate before it goes to the governor to be signed. It is well on its way!

Thursday evening was the first spring pharmacy night for the year at the twin cities. It was also Julie’s birthday! It was a great success (and an added bonus of celebrating Julie’s birthday in between programming). The format was unique in that we focused on discussion groups for all of the topics. There were six tables serving topics for students, new practitioners, and seasoned practitioners in all areas of pharmacy. There will be pharmacy nights for the next few weeks in various areas on Minnesota. Hope to see you there!
